You never took a lamp to show and tell?

Good old show and tell.

When you got to shake in your boots in front of your peers and show something crazy you'd brought from home. Or worse, tell everyone how your mum likes to drink wine on the weekends and forgets to cook your dinner (a complete exaggeration for the benefits of story telling).
