Initial Strategy Session
You’ve written the thing. Now you need to know what to do with it.
Send me a sample of your work before we meet—a synopsis and your 3 opening chapters is usually plenty. I’ll read it properly, then we’ll get on a call and talk it through: what’s working, what’s getting in the way, how it’s likely to land with agents or readers, and what I’d do next if it were mine. This is an honest, informed read from someone who’s worked as both a published author and an editor.
For some writers, this one conversation is exactly what they needed. For others, it’s the start of something longer and we can talk about whether ongoing mentorship makes sense for you, and whether we’re a good fit to keep working together.
This is for you if:
You want direction, not a full manuscript report
You’re deciding whether to keep revising, get a full assessment, or start querying
You want an honest opinion from someone who won’t just tell you it’s great
90-minute Teams Meeting and reading time is $495.
If you’d prefer a written report and mark-up of your document, then an Opening Chapters Review might suit you better.
Ongoing Mentorship
If our first session goes well and you’d like to keep working together, mentorship continues in blocks (six hours in total) covering both reading and meeting time, paid upfront.
How you use the six hours is up to you: six one-hour check-ins as you draft, three longer working sessions, or whatever suits how you write. At the end of each block, you can simply renew for another.
This is for you if:
You want a mentor in your corner through a full draft or revision, not just a single opinion
You work better with regular accountability and a standing sounding board
You’ve had your initial session and want to keep going
6 hours (customisable) and reading time is $925.
Consulting / 1:1 Time
Sometimes you just need to talk it through. The idea that is floating around that you can’t pin down, the draft that won’t behave, the questions about publishing no one else seems to answer straight.
Whether you’re wrestling with structure, stuck in self-doubt, or simply not sure what comes next, a one-hour consult can offer clarity, direction, or just a reality check.
I’ve spent over two decades navigating the writing and publishing world. First as a freelance features writer, then a children’s author, and now a novelist published by HarperCollins. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned.
